Trout Unlimited and hundreds of schools throughout the state are raising our native brook trout in classrooms to teach students about the importance of our state fish.
Trout Unlimited is a national organization with about 400 chapters reaching all over the United States. They work to apply “the very best information and thinking available” to help conserve the natural living environment for fish. Their vision is to ensure that robust populations of native and wild coldwater fish once again thrive within their North American range, so that our children can enjoy healthy fisheries in their home waters.
Through their fifty years of dedication, Trout Unlimited has been involved in hundreds of stream restoration projects and was active in compelling Congress to strengthen the Clean Water Act. Today, Trout Unlimited continues to strive to achieve its vision, with over 150,000 active members nationwide.
