Pittston, PA – WVIA invites Dunmore residents to the “Our Town Dunmore” documentary film preproduction/whiteboard meeting at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at the Dunmore Community Center located at 1414 Monroe Avenue.</p>
<p>At the pre-production/whiteboard meeting, residents from Dunmore will discuss which landmarks, events and local stories the program should explore. WVIA will answer questions about the project during the meeting and ask volunteer videographers and/or storytellers to narrow the list of subjects and events to videotape. WVIA hopes to recruit 20 to 25 area residents with personal camcorders.</p>
<p>Resident videographers will then set off to videotape their pre-determined stories.  They will have until Saturday, April 20, 2013 when their memory cards or videotapes filled with stories of Dunmore are due to WVIA. The footage will then be used to make the “Our Town Dunmore” documentary.</p>
<p>Anyone interested in being a videographer and/or storyteller for the documentary should contact WVIA Our Town producer, Lisa Mazzarella, at 570-602-1164 or by e-mailing lisamazzarella@wvia.org.</p>
<p>“Our Town Dunmore” will be WVIA’s thirteenth edition of its &#8220;Our Town&#8221; documentary series. The one-hour video scrapbook will focus on the people, places and happenings of Dunmore, PA., as seen through the eyes of its residents.“Our Town Dunmore” will premiere on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at 8 p.m. on WVIA TV.</p>
<p>As northeastern Pennsylvania’s public television station serving a very large geographic area, the &#8220;Our Town&#8221; project was initiated in an effort to involve the communities and their residents with WVIA. The &#8220;Our Town&#8221; documentary series is intended to treat viewers to the many personalities, perspectives, and possibilities that local towns have to offer.</p>
